Garber, WAC captain, has been named director of training at the 1st WAC training center. Ft. Des Moines, la. Captain Garber, a graduate of Dunkirk High School, attended Western College for Women in Oxford, O., before entering Indiana University, where she was graduated in 1932. Before her enlistment, Captain Garber was for eight years chief of the bookkeeping department and assistant to the office manager at the Indiana Glass Company in Dunkirk. Her sister. First Lieutenant A. Elizabeth Garber, who was graduated from Indiana in 1939, is now with the WACs in North Africa. Her brother, Capt. J. Neill Garber, who received the M. D. degree from I. U. in 1932, is with the medical corps in England. Her father, Dr. Erwin C. Garber, of Dunkirk, served as a first lieutenant in the medical corps during the first world war.
