By SHARON EDWARDS and BOB LOVEMAN Arlington Reporters With the race for space forcing engineers to miniaturize equipment, industry and the space commission might take a look into the science of "locker stuffing." At their wits ends, Arlington High School teen-agers this week restored to picks and shovels for those "stronger than dirt" end-of-semester cleaning problems. ARLINGTON junior Sharon Ritter considered the possibility of driving a small foreign sports car up to her ground floor locker, but finally settled for a summit conference with her three locker partners when they divided the year's "loot." Band member Bill Ellison's trombone presents a rather unusual fitting problem since it slides into his locker easily but refuses to budge out. Among the more interesting discoveries of the locker cleaning spree were John Maple's camshaft, Mindy Davis' casual wear wardrobe (three physical education outfits and two pairs of shoes), and Mike Davis' "nothing." KNIGHT senior Linda Alon-zo had no trouble cleaning her locker since "I couldn't open it." Most unusual of the locker discoveries must surely have been the full-sized cross-bow in Pat Love's book bin. Pat hastily explained, "I made it in shop class but I haven't found the right moment to take it home yet." Attucks Has Honors Day In Music The music department of Crispus Attucks High School presented its annual honors day program recently in the school auditorium.

Guest speaker was Ronald Taylor, a 1960 graduate of Attucks. More than 75 pupils received music honor awards which were divided into four categories: vocal ensembles and glee club awards, band and wind ensemble awards, orchestra, string ensemble and Music Memory Contest awards and, finally, choir and Martha Hill Award. SENIOR Ida Johnson received the Martha Hill Music Award, the highest honor in music at Attucks. Ida also won other awards for her participation in band and orchestra. Pupils who received gold medals for their participation in the Indiana Music Education State Final Contest were Richard Ball, Jimmy Blair, Jerry Brewster, Beverly Davis and Walter Hart.

Also winning state finalist awards were Charles Knox, Alan Martin, Barbara Miles, Clifford Rattiff and Joseph Wilkins.
