STAR MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 1972 OBITUARIES Leo W. Lauck Succumbs At 57; Owner Of Southside Mortuary Leo W. Lauck, 57, owner of the Lauck Funeral Home, and Catholic lay leader, died yesterday in his home at 1433 Union Street. A lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Mr. Lauck was graduated from the Indiana College of Mortuary Science in 1936, and in the 1940s became owner of the funeral home his grandfather had founded, in 1896.

ACTIVE in numerous civic and church-centered groups, he was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a former president of its Holy Name Society and a charter member of Greater Southside Inc. Council of the Knights of lumbus and had formed the council's choral group, of which he was director. HE WAS A former president of the Roman Catholic Knights of St. George and, the City Mr. Lauck was a former Salesman Club.

He was also grand knight of Msgr. Downey I former president of the In- Mrs. Norman Brown Dies; Was Teacher Services for Mrs. Ola Mary Brown, 55, 4727 Wyandotte Trail, a home economics teacher at the Indiana School for the Deaf since 1945, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Flanner Buchanan Broad Ripple Mortuary.

Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today in the mortuary. Mrs. Brown died Saturday in St.

Vincent Hospital. She was born at Salina, and had lived in Indianapolis 27 years. She graduated from Gallaudet College in 1939 and was a member of the school's alumni Association. She was a member of Phi Kappa Zeta Sorority, National Association for the Deaf, National Fraternal Society of the Deaf, Indiana Association of the Deaf, Indiana State Teachers Association, Indiana School for the Deaf Educational Association, Parent-Teacher Counselors' Organization at the School for the Deaf and of the BLOATED STOMACH? Mr. Lauck was a member of the board of directors of Talbott House, an assistant director of the Schola Cantorum choir of SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral and charter member of the St. Meinrad Lay Association. HE WAS A member of the St.

Francis Aid Society, Indi, ana Society of Chicago and a former member of Catholic Charities Bureau. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Lauck Funeral Home, and at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in St.

Joseph Cemetery. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Anna, Marie Lauck; two sons, and Anthony W. Lauck, both of Indianapolis; and five daughters, Mrs. Barbara Jean Flodin of Midlothian, Ohio, and 1 Mrs.

Mary Lee Battles, Mrs. Jo Ann Lichtenburg, Mrs. Rosemary Beckham and Miss Elizabeth Ann Lauck, all of Indianapolis. G. E.

Gensch, Ex-Company Auditor, Dies Services for George E. Gensch, 5454 East St. Clair Street, who died Saturday in Community Hospital, Tuesday in will Shir- be p.m. ley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.

He was born at Milwaukee, and had lived in Indianapolis 30 years. HE WAS an auditor for Ellis Trucking Company Inc. for 15 years before retiring in 1967. Prior to that he was an auditor for the Chicago, South Shore and South Bend (electric) Railroad for 25 years. He was a member of the 20- year Club of the former Indiana (interurban) Railroad, Ellis Oldtimers Club and a former officer in the Indianapolis Traffic Club.

In World War II he served with the United States Marine Corps. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Mildred G. Gensch. Mrs.

Margaret Wilkens Services for Mrs. Margaret K. Wilkens, 64, an Indianapolis resident for 50 years before moving to McCordsville two years ago, will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Harry W. Moore Arlington Chapel and at 9:30 a.m.

in St. Simon Catholic Church, of which she was a member, Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Born at Logansport, she died Friday in Community Hospital. Mrs. Wilkens was an office worker for the Creative Packaging Division of Eli Lilly Co.

Ammon was born at Lafayette and had lived in Indianapolis 44 years. He was graduated from the former Benjamin Harrison Law School in 1930 with an L.L.B. degree and received a doctor of jurisprudence degree from Indiana Law School in 1937. IN 1937 HE was appointed Indianapolis District parole officer by Governor Henry F. Schricker.

He held the post four years. He became associated with the Hanford Cowan law firm in 1941 and remained until 1947, when he began private practice. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Ethel Ammon; two daughters, Mrs. Jeanne.

Matthews of Indianapolis and Mrs. Derexa Jean Sandoe of Muncie, and a son, Larry Lee Ammon of Los Angeles, Calif. Miss Margaret Pryce Dies; Ex-Musician, Entertainer Services for Miss Margaret Pryce, a retired professional musician and entertainer, will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in 1 Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel, and at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. SHE DIED Saturday in Community Hospital. Miss Pryce was graduated from Vincennes University and studied organ at the Wurlitzer Music Company's school at Chicago. She began her career as a pianist, accompanying silent films playing at the Uptown Theater in the 1920s and '30s. Later she and her sister, now Mrs.

Martha Jones of Indianapolis, performed professionally as the Pryce Sisters, until the former became music director of radio station WISH during World War II. FROM 1948 to 1956, Miss I was a member of a musical group that toured the United States, playing at hotels in the Albert Pick chain. She then returned to Indianapolis and entertained at various nightclubs here until her retirement in 1962, including the former and Restaurant on West 16th Street, the old Sportsman's Club on North Pennsylvania Street and Al Meyers' Cocktail Lounge. Miss Pryce was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and the Musicians' Union local 3. Miss Dorothy Brown Dies, Helped Latvian Emigrants Miss Dorothy Adelia 60, 2010 North Capitol Avenue, who helped in the settlement of hundreds of Latvians who emigrated to the United States, died yesterday in a local nursing home.

SHE WAS BORN at Seymour and had lived in Indianapolis 35 years, during which time she was a secretary for several churches including First Lutheran Church, where she was a member and organist. In her capacity i as secretary of First Lutheran Church, she helped Latvians settle in the United States. SHE HAD BEEN active in the program, sponsored by the Lutheran World Federation, since 1949. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Flanner and Norman J.

Eickhoff Services for Norman J. Eickhoff, 71, 6925 Churchman Avenue, who died Saturday in versity Heights Hospital, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. John Lutheran Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in St.

John Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today in Abdon Funeral Home, He was a lifelong resident of Indianapolis. He was a purchasing agent for John Sexton and Company 25 years before retiring in 1966. Survivors include the widow, Mrs.

Olive Eickhoff; a daughter, Mrs. Inez Dougherty of Indianapolis, and a son, Norman E. Eickhoff of Carthage. James E. Turman Services for James E.

Turman, 73, 660 Eugene Street, who died Saturday in Marion County General Hospital, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Barnes United Methodist Church, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. He was a landscape gardener for several years, retiring in 1970. A resident of Indianapolis for 30 years, he was a member of Barnes church and Waterford Masonic Lodge 13. Friends may call after 3 p.m.

Tuesday at Summers Funeral Home. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Elnora Turman, and a son, James E. Turman Jr. of Indianapolis.

Rev. Cauthion Boyd Services for the Rev. Cauthion T. Boyd, 77, father of the Rev. Cauthion T.

Boyd chaplain for the lis Police Department, who died Friday at his home at San Jose, will be held at 10 a.m. today in Lima-SolomonDickerson Mortuary, San Jose. He was pastor of the San Jose Church of God. Also surviving is the widow. Ernest T.

Verbarg Jr. Dies In V. A. Hospital Ernest Tripp Verbarg 42, 905 Bristol Road, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, died yesterday in West 10th Street Veterans Administration Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Indianapolis and formerly was co-manager of Tripp Warehouse Company.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Northwood Christian Church, of which he was a member. Burial in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today in Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Meridian Hills Mortuary.

The family asked that any memorial contributions be made to Northwood church for distribution for diabetic research. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Charlotte Verbarg; a son, Ernest T. Verbarg III, and two daughters, Misses Kathy A. and Karen E.

Clark, 73, 4440 Marcy Lane, Apt. 145, will be held Tuesday in Crown Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Clark, a resident of Indianapolis most of her life, died Saturday in Winona Memorial Hospital. A cook at School 91, she was employed by the Indianapolis Board of School Commissioners, for 15 years until retiring in 1 1968.

She was a member of Seventh Christian Church, Madden Nottingham American Legion Post Auxiliary and North Park Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Flanner and Buchanan Fall Creek Mortuary. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs.

Janet Hurley of Indianapolis, and a son, Donn R. Clark of Marion. Mrs. Pearl Bowman Mrs. Pearl Ada Bowman, 612 North Alton Avenue, died yesterday in her home.

She was born at Walnut, and had lived in Indianapolis 50 years. She was a sales person for L. S. Ayres Co. for many years before retiring in 1957.

She was a member of the Ayres Friendship Club and Fairfax Christian Church, and was active for many years in Republican politics, including 12 years as a vice-committeeman in the 24th Ward. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Conkle Speedway Funeral Home, with burial in Floral Park Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy M.

Thomas of Plainfield, and two sons, William R. Simmons Sr. and Gerald C. Simmons, both of Indianapolis. Robert F.

Aliff Robert F. Aliff, 46, R.R. 7, Greenwood, a truck driver for Monarch Beverage Company for 20 years, died yesterday in Methodist Hospital. He was a native of Indianapolis. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m.

Tuesday in G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Hattie Aliff.

RICHARD M. nixon SHY, AMBITIOUS COURAGEOUS American Instructors of the Deaf organization. Survivors include the husband, Norman S. Brown. Roger Hull Dies; Headed Board Of N.Y.

Mutual Stamford, Conn. (UPI)Roger Hull, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Mutual of New York, died yesterday at Stamford Hospital. He was 64 years old. Hull spent his entire career with MONY, one of the nation's largest insurance companies. He had been chief executive officer of the company for the last 12 years.

Born at State College, on Nov. 17, 1907, Hull started as an insurance salesman in the Meridian (Miss.) office of MONY after graduating from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1928. He moved through a series of positions with the company until he was made vice-president and manager of agencies in 1941. In 1950 he was elected to the board of trustees and appointed an executive vicepresident. Mrs.

Steven Watson Services for Mrs. Cora B. Watson, 83, 312 South Warman Avenue, who died Saturday in University Heights Hospital, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Royster and Askin Mortuary. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Webber, a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, was a clerk for the Hook Drugs Inc. store at 2240 East 53d Street for 10 years. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Betty Ann Pond of Fort Wayne, and two sons, Ray and Harold T.

Moore Peace Chapel, with burial in Washington Park East Cemetery. Mr. Risley, born at Petersburg and a resident of Indianapolis for 35 years, was an inspector and machinist at P. R. Mallory Company Inc.

Armel Hale Services for Armel Hale, 40, 128 North Elder Avenue, a retired employe of Angell Manufacturing Company, who died Saturday in Marion County General Hospital, will be held at 1 p.m.

Tuesday in G. H. Herrmann South East Street Funeral Home, with burial in Floral Park Cemetery. He was born at Tompkinsville, and lived in Indianapolis 20 years. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Janice Hale. Forrest J. Parsons J. Parsons, 75, formerly of 225 West Kansas Street, died yesterday in a local nursing home.

He was born at Battle Creek, and bad lived in Indianapolis 25 years. He worked in the maintenance department of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad for 15 years before retiring in 1962. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in G. H.
