A. Shepherd, father of Mrs. Shirley Deffendall, Mrs. Rebecca ua Detroit Diasel Allison Division, General Motors Corporation during World War II and later served as safety director at L.S. Ayres Co.

A specialist in hybridizing day lilies, he was president of the Indiana Day Lily Society. He established two scholarships for undergraduate members of the DePauw Lambda Chi chapter. He served in the Army Signal Corps in World War I. SURVIVORS INCLUDE his widow, Mrs. Ethel Boyle Mcintosh, and his son, George M.

Mcintosh of Lake Worth, Fla. castle, he was a graduate of De-Pauw University and a charter member of the DePauw chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha. He became national secretary for Lambda Chi in 1920, a position he held until 1942. He established the first general offices of the fraternity at Kingston, which later was moved to Wilkes-Barre, and then to Indianapolis. He was president of the Secretaries' Association of the National Intrafraternity Conference.

Mr. Mcintosh served as secretary of the Lake Forest (111.) Country Fair and worked for the City News Bureau of Chicago during summers while an undergraduate at DePauw. He worked for the J. Roland Kay Company, an international advertising company, at Chicago, and attended the Art Institute of Chicago. MR.

MCINTOSH served two terms as chairman of the board of Woodruff Place, and was a member of the board of directors of the Ashland (later First Federal) Savings and Loan Association 40 years. He worked as a safety inspector for Robert Alan McCoy Memorial services for Robert Alan McCoy, 19, 4019 East 79th Street, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Carmel. Burial will be in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery at Huntington.

He died Sunday in St. Vincent Hospital of injuries suffered Aug. 1 in a car accident. A native of Chicago, he had lived here the last two years with his family at the 79th Street address. A 1975 graduate of North Central High School, he was assistant manager of the Thorn McAn shoe store in Washington Square.

He was a member of First Congregation Church at Webster Grove, Mo. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert B. McCoy; his brothers, James and Jeffery McCoy both at home, and Richard McCoy of St.

Louis, and his grandmothers, Mrs. Elizabeth McCoy of Huntington and Mrs. Eleanor Schultz of St. Cloud, Minn. Mrs.

Lester L. Bickett Services for Mrs. Lester L. (Esther Evans) Bickett, 81, formerly of Indianapolis, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Flanner and Buchanan Speedway Mortuary, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery.

She died Sunday in Clinton County Hospital at Frankfort. A native of Linden, Mrs. Bickett lived here 50 years before movjng to Frankfort. Her husband, the Rev. Mr.

Bickett, is former a of Clermont United Methodist Church. She was a member of Speedway United Methodist Church and was a past worthy matron and 50-year member of Linden Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her son, William W. Evans of Speedway. Melvin F.

Shepherd Services for Melvin F. Shepherd, 75, 6028 Evanston Avenue, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Flanner and Buchanan Broad Ripple Mortuary, with burial in Sutherland Park Cemetery. A 63-year Indianapolis resident, he died Sunday in Community Hospital. Born at Greenville, he was a painter for 40 years, including 15 years for Circle City Decorating Company.

He retired in 1971. He was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and the Painters' and Decorators' Union, Local 47. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Violet A. Shepherd, and two daughters, Mrs.

Richard (Shirley Deffendall of Indianapolis and Mrs. Charles (Rebecca Sue) Schmidt of Portland, Ore. Mrs. Guy McCombs Services for Mrs. Guy J.

(Naomi Esther) McCombs, 76, 1611 Finley Avenue, a lifelong Indianapolis resident, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Farley West Morris Street Chapel, with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. She died Sunday while attending Christ The body has been donated to the Indiana University Medical Center, with memorial services to be conducted later in the year at Greencastle. Frick, 8741 Founders Road, Indianapolis. Mrs, James H. Smith Mrs. James H. (Molly Smith, 43, 5153 Rowney Street, died yesterday at St.

Francis Hospital Center. She was born at Mary Oaks, and lived here most of her life. Smith was a waitress 25 and worked at Moose Lodge 17 the last five years. She was a member of Hansing Park Christian Church. Services will be held at 1 p.m.

Wednesday at Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel, with burial in Washington Park East Cemetery. Survivors, in addition lo her husband, include two daughters, Army PFC Becky Jo Smith of Washington state and Miss Joyce Karen Smith of Indianapolis; a son, Charles (C.B,) Smith, and her mother, Mrs. Laverne Jones, both of Indianapolis. Mrs. Nelson Baker Services for Mrs.

Nelson (N. Jane) Baker, 53, 749 Worchester Avenue, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday In Dorsey-Feeney Mortuary and at noon in St. Bernadette Catholic Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

She died Sunday in Methodist Hospital. Mrs. Baker, a Michigan native, had lived here 27 years. She was a member of the Women's Council of the church, Moose Lodge 11 Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2999 Auxiliary. Survivors, In addition to her husband, include her daughter, Mrs.

Joyce M. Mitchell, and two sons, Stephen and Dennis Baker, all of Indianapolis; and her mother, Mrs. Nellie Westbrook of Greenfield, Mass. Mrs. Nadine Derleth Services for Mrs Nadine E.

Derleth, 77, Kissuiimee, formerly of Indianapolis, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Flarmer and Buchanan Broad Ripple Mortuary. Burial arrangements are incomplete. She died Sunday in Community Hospital. A native of Sparta, 111., Mrs.) Derleth lived here most of her life.
