Pierre Funeral Home in Greenwood, with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Berns died Sunday in her home in Westminster Village. She was a native of Washington, Ind. and a member of United Methodist Church.

Her husband, William J. Berns, is the owner of Berns Construction Company. Also surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Armes of Lebanon, and two sons, Thomas Berns of Greenwood and Robert Berns of South Pasadena, Calif. Miss Willie Stephens Services for Miss Willie Charles Stephens, 72, 145 West 22nd Street, will be held at 5 p.m.

Wednesday in Jacobs Brothers Westside Chapel, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. She died Friday in Methodist Hospital. Born at Abbeyville, S.C., she had lived in Indianapolis 38 years. She retired as a social worker in 1966, having worked for Marion County Juvenile Court and Community Action Against Poverty. Mrs.

Mollie Cawthra, Cancer Loan Group Founder, Dies Mrs. Mollie Rathbun Cawthra, 77, 6421 West 96th Street, founder of the Zionsville Cancer Loan Cupboard, died Sunday in Methodist Hospital. Mrs. Cawthra, a native of Toledo, Ohio, and resident here more than 40 years, also was a member of the Boone County Cancer Society, Little Red Door and the Zionsville Citizens Committee. She was a charter member of the Sullivan Museum at Zionsville.

She was a member of the board of the United Cancer Council and the English Speaking Union. Mrs. Cawthra, widow of Henry I. Cawthra, was a graduate of the School of Fine Arts and Crafts at Boston, Mass. As a Red Cross volunteer during World War II she taught silversmithing at Fort Benjamin Harrison.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Festival Music Society for the Mollie Cawthra Renaissance Lute in the Board of Trade Building or the Boone County Cancer Society at Lebanon. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Nell Brewster, of Narragansett, R.I., and brother, William Rathbun of Toledo, Ohio. Area Residents Honored For Community Service A sheriff's deputy, a city official and an educator were honored Monday in the Indianapolis Athletic Club at the 43d annual Community Service Awards Banquet. Honored were: Sgt.

Robert A. Warren of the Marion County Sheriff's Department, Distinguished Service Award. Robert Kennedy, of the Indianapolis Department Metropolitan director, Development, Good Government Award. William W. Neher, dean of University College of Butler University, Outstanding Young Educator Award.

Warren was cited for organizing the sheriff department's largest "Christmas Tour" event which provides toys and presents for underprivileged and hospitalized children. Kennedy was recognized for his efforts to revitalize the city center. including the beautification of Monument Circle, development of the Indiana Avenue corridor and establishment of inner-city industrial parks. Lee Edward Sadler, Secretary Of Baptist Group, Succumbs Services for Lee Edward Sadler, 62, 127 East 33rd Street, secretary of the Indiana Brotherhood Union of the National Baptist Convention of America, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Metropolitan Baptist Church, of which he was a member, with burial in New Crown Cemetery.

An Army Veteran of World War II, he died Saturday in West 10th Street Veterans Administration Hospital. A native of Brownsboro, and an Indianapolis resident 56 years, Mr. Sadler was a deacon of the church, Sunday school teacher the Men's Bible class and president of the brotherhood of the chuch. He was also secretary of the Council of Churches. He was a truck driver eight years for the Indianapolis Department of Transportation.

Friends may call Wednesday from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. in Boatright Funeral Home, and from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mildred Sadler; stepdaughter, Mrs. Gertrude ate, and sisters, Mrs. Gladys Green and Mrs. Catherine Jones, all of Indianapolis.

E. J. Katzenberger Services for Edward J. Katzenberger, 87, Indianapolis, will be at 10 a.m. today in the Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel, with burial in Washington Park East Cemetery.

Mr. Katzenberger, a World War I Army veteran, died Saturday in a local nursing home. He worked at Western Union 48 years, retiring in 1956. He was a 50-year member of Capitol City Masonic Lodge. Survivors include a son.

John Stoner Mrs. Anna Carr Services Wednesday Services for Mrs. Anna Marie Cornett Carr, 82, Indianapolis, the widow of Jack C. Carr, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, of which she was a member, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Robert Bussell of Noblesville. William Roach William Roach, 77, 2173 Sugar Grove Avenue, a retired machine operator for Link-Belt Division of FMC died Monday in Methodist Hospital. He worked at Link-Belt 35 years, retiring in 1961. A native of Castalian Springs, Mr. Roach lived in Indianapolis 64 years.

He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church at Castalian Springs. Bauermeister C.C. (Corky) Bauermeister, 70, a lifelong Indianapolis resident, died Monday in Community Hospital. Nichols Dies; Retired Executive's Wife Mrs. James L. (Mary H. Barker) Nichols, 61, 6254 North Tuxedo Street, died Monday in Winona Memorial Hospital. Her husband, a longtime executive of P.R.

Mallory Co. is a retired president of Mallory Distributor Products Company, a subsidiary. A native of New York City, Mrs. Nichols attended New York University and for four years worked as an executive secretary in the New York offices of the Mallory firm. From 1940 to 1960, when she moved to Indianapolis, she lived at Philadelphia, where her husband was Mallory's regional manager.

Mrs. Nichols was a member of Hillcrest Country Club, Woman's Department Club, Koinonia Club and Art Study Club, and a former member of the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
