"It means the couple has to be amenable to working through problems and be willing to work for the good of the relationship." Florida psychiatrist Jane Buchman lists a number of factors besides love that are necessary for making a relationship work. Among them are trust, respect, and communication. "You have to have some of all of these components, otherwise, love and the entire relationship could be destroyed," she said. "For instance, if you are not able to convey your feelings to someone, that lack of communication erode the relationship.
