Brittle-Boned Boy Gets Set For Surgery Little Rock, Ark. (AP) Eighteen Peter Lollar was packed in foam rubber yesterday awaiting a flight to Chicago for a an operation which may keep his brittle bones from cracking. But turbulent weather delayed the flight and it may be early next week before made, Peter's mother, Mrs. Oris B. Lollar, said.

The tiny, but spunky youngster, has spent his few months of life mostly in traction because the slightest pressure can fracture his fragile bones. Peter' was scheduled to be examined at Shriner's Hospital in Chicago today but the trip was postponed because any violent weather while aboard the plane could injure him severely, despite the precautionary foam padding. "THE WAITING is terrible." disappointed Mrs. Lollar said. "We waited since noon, hoping the weather would clear up.

It's just awful." Peter suffers from a rare bone disease known as osteogenesis imperfecta, in which his bones are easily broken. The hospital performs an operation rodding in which bones are strung on steel rods to strengthen them. It has been performed successfully on other victims with some being younger even than Peter. It is hoped, if the operation is successful, that Peter eventually may be able to sit up and someday even feed himself without the excruciating pain that accompanies the malady. She became nervous and 'asked Litten to get the money the robber demanded. Litten turned over the bills from the cash register and the gunman fled.
