15. Mr. Crawford was a professor in the School of Business and the School of Education at IU. He also had served as chairman of the department of administrative systems and business education for many years, and worked with student teachers and their supervisors. He served on the undergraduate and graduate faculties and on more than 150 doctoral committees.

Previously, he taught in secondary schools, junior colleges, military schools and adult education classes. A pioneer in teaching on television, Mr. Crawford produced and taught on education programs for commercial and educational TV networks. He also was an instructional-programming consultant for television stations and other organizations. He was a member of the Governor's IRENE E.

Mr. Crawford was a former feature and service editor for Business Education and served on the editorial board of the NABTE Review.

Named one of the top 10 professors at IU, he was an honorary member of Pi Omega Pi and received a Distinguished Service Award from the National Business Education Association. also received the Distinguished Leadership Award from the Indiana Business Education Association. In 1980. he was chosen as the first Outstanding Business Educator in Indiana by the Indiana Business Education Association, and received the John Robert Gregg Award, presented the nation's most distinguished business educator. A member of the Bloomington North Rotary Club, he was named a Paul Harris Fellow in 1980.

16. MY ANSWER Dear Billy Graham: What do you think is the purpose of life? This question came up in an adult evening class I was taking a few months ago, and everyone had a different opinion. Mrs. E.C. Dear Reader: I can do no better than paraphrase something Christians have quoted for centuries: Our main purpose in life is to bring glory to God by the way we live, and to enjoy his goodness and presence forever.

To put it another way, we are here to know God, and to do his will. You see, God put us here, and that makes all the difference. If we were here by chance, we could make up any purpose for ourselves that we wanted, and one person's ideas about life would be just as good as another's. But God put us here for a purpose, and the greatest thing we can do is to discover him and what he wants us to do. But there is a problem: We are separated from God because of our sins.

We need to have our sins forgiven and to be reconciled to God. And the good news of the Gospel is that God has made this possible! Jesus Christ came to Earth to die for our sins and restore us to God. As the Bible says, "For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God" (1 Peter Turn to Christ and commit your life to him in faith and trust.
