She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church, Brownsburg, where she was a teacher and leader of junior and teen departments and choirs. Mrs. Walker was a graduate of Moody Bible Institute. William A. Moffett was Dead Sea Scrolls scholar Dr. William A. Moffett, a historian and librarian who was instrumental in breaking the 40-year monopoly on scholarly access to the Dead Sea Scrolls, died of bladder cancer Monday night at his home in Pasadena, Calif. He was 62.

As head of the Huntington Library in San Marino, one of the world's largest independent research libraries, Moffett announced in 1991 the library's photographic archive of the New York Times Dead Sea Scrolls would be available to all qualified scholars. The collection consists of 3,000 photographs of all the original scrolls. "Opening access to the Dead Sea Scrolls." he said, "is an affirmation of the mission research libraries: not merely to store and preserve information, but to make it available in as free and unfettered a way as possible." His decision ended the absolute control of a few scholars over the study and publication of the scrolls. His action removed much of the secrecy surrounding the ancient documents..
