marked by a furi ous fist fight Richmond opened the polo season hero tonight In i game with Indl enapolls winning by a score of 5 to 0 ete lor Ilin unfortunate mix up In the last period between Mansfield of the Richmond team and McGIlvray of the visitors for which the offending players were fined the game was free from rowdy play though quite rough owing to the slam bang tactics employed by the members of both teams Richmond won through better team work on the offensive and the faultless defense Of Jessup at the Quaker goal That the locals' score was kept down is due to Bannon's great work at the cage The visitors were handicapped by the poor condition of the Indianapolis rush ers all of whom were overweight and lost their early in the contest Before the game Gordon a local newspaper man made a brief address on behalf of the management thanking the public for its patronage Bone set the great crowd wild the mo ment the whistle blew by winning the rush and scoring ir four
