Dorney 80, of Mooresville, passed away October 5, 2009. He was retired from the City of Indianapolis, a Korean War veteran, member of the American Legion in Mooresville and Lifeline Baptist Church.

Bobby was preceded in death by wife, Juanita Downing Dorney; daughter, Vickie Ann Dorney; sons, Dennis Lee Dorney and Harold J. Dorney. He is survived by wife, Ruby Dorney; children, Clyde (Tina) Dorney, Mary (Jim Lawson, Douglas Dorney, Theresa (Doug) Davis, Belinda Dorney; stepchildren, Sharon (Jerry) Karst, Johnnie (Vickie) Go-ble, Glenda (Cliff) Gentry, Barb (Darrell) Saylor and Roger Goble; sister, Kathleen (Barnett) Pierson; brother, George (Vivian) Dorney; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday October 7, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan Funeral Center Decatur Township, with funeral 11 a.m.

Thursday October 8, 2009 at Lifeline Baptist Church in Camby. Burial will follow in Floral Park Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to sign online guest-book at: www.nannerbuchanan.com Barbara A. Yerich Higdon 61, St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2009 at home.

She was born in Indianapolis on May 26, 1948 to Bronko and Bessie (Coleman) Yerich who survive. Mrs. Higdon lived in St. Petersburg for the past 13 years after having resided in Brownsburg for 40 years. She was a 1966 graduate of Brownsburg High School.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Higdon is survived by her children, Jeff Higdon of Atlanta, Georgia and Lesley (Bob) Woods of Hamilton, Ohio. Other survivors include a granddaughter, Madelyne Woods; sisters, Donna (Dwight) Barger and Linda (Kevin) Rollings, both of Brownsburg; brother, Jim Yerich of Elgin, Texas; special son and daughter, Todd Falconbury and Tricia (Furey) Poindexter; and 6 nieces and nephews. These are only a few of the people who will sadly miss her kindness, warmth and her wonderful sense of humor. Services will be held at Stevens Mortuary Family Center, 5520 10th St, Indpls, on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 10:30 am.

Visitation will be there from 4-8 pm on Thursday, October 8. An Eagle Scout and a formidable football player, Bill was considered an "iron playing both offensive and defensive tackle, for the Shortridge High School "Blue During high school Bill worked a variety of odd jobs to help pay for his education at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

While attending Northwestern he Co-Chaired its annual student talent "Waa-Mu Show," wrote fiction for its literary publication "The Purple Parrot" and was elected President of if Phi chapter of the national fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta. Known for his uncanny ability to recall and recite sports facts and statistics he was nicknamed "The Source" by his friends. In June of 1941 he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and went to work as a salesman for IBM. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Bill enlisted in the Navy and was given an officer's commission. On April 13, 1942 he reported to The Great Lakes Naval Training Center in North Chicago, IL as an Ensign.

Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to Lieutenant and sent to serve in the Pacific aboard LST (Landing Ship Tank) 640 as its Communications Officer. He participated in numerous combat actions including the capture and consolidation of the Southern Philippine Islands and the invasion of Borneo. When Japan surrendered on August 15th, 1945 he was with the fleet in the Leyte Gulf of die Philippine Islands preparing to invade Japan. Bill later remarked that firework shows could never compare to the celebratory display of rockets, flares and tracers fired into the night sky by the 1400 U.S. ship invasion force anchored there.

Returning to Indianapolis after his discharge, he married Jane Williams on September 20th, 1947. They had three children William, Sharon (Margolin), and Cynthia (Wilson). While he lived in Indianapolis, Bill served as Vice-President of Marketing for Indiana oil company, Gaseteria, which he helped build into one of the largest independent oil companies of its time. When it was acquired in 1958 by the Standard Oil Company of New Jersey (EXXON) he moved his family to Lake Forest, Illinois and took over the management of Chicago heating oil supplier, Petro Solar-Therm, Inc. In 1968 he left the oil business to found Bonded Foods, which franchised Convenient Food Mart stores in the Midwest.

He built this business until 1975 when he sold it, retired and moved to Sarasota, Florida. There he invested in real estate and avidly pursued his fondest avocation, golf. A loving father and grandfather Bill always found time to throw a ball or help out with homework. He never missed a game or a school play. He hugged his children liberally and loved to laugh, especially when the joke was on him.

Most of all he loved his family and tirelessly bragged about his kids and grandkids. Bill died peacefully on October 2d, 2009 at his residence at the Beneva Park Club, an assisted living facility in Sarasota. He was preceded in death by Jane, from whom he'd been divorced since 1971; by his subsequent wife, Marjorie, who died in 1986; and by his devoted wife of 20 years, Madeleine Barr. He is survived by his children, William, Jr. (Hinsdale, IL), Sharon (Los Angeles, CA), Cynthia (Fontana, WL), and his grandchildren, Oliver and Anabel de Navas and Braden and Elizabeth Barr.

Ellajean Harlan Gibbs 91, of Plainfield, IN passed away October 5, 2009. She was born September 23, 1918 in Hadley, IN to the late Otho and Maggie Harlan. She was one of 5 children; 2 brothers, Glen and Leo Harlan; and 2 sisters, Betty Morphew and Marjorie Springer. She married Francis W. (Jim) Gibbs, who preceded her in death on January 18, 2009.

They were married on December 10, 1939, and shared their lives together for 69 years. She was a homemaker and "stay at home mom" raising the family until her husband bought the John Deere dealership in Mooreville, IN where she was an integral partner. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Gideons, Martinsville Chapter, where she often passed out Bible's to doctors offices, schools and nursing homes. A funeral service will be Thursday, October 8 at 6:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call from 4:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Cartersburg, IN.

Survivors include 7 children, Francis Jean Daum, Diana Barkley, Judy Tal-lent, Jay H. Gibbs, Terry L. Wright, Dennis D. Gibbs and Richard Allen Gibbs; 2 sisters, Betty Morphew and Marjorie Springer; 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Goodrich 67, of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, October 5, 2009 surrounded by his family. He was born in Terre Haute, IN on December 3, 1941, the son of the late William and Elizabeth Lauren (Maxwell) Goodrich. He worked as a Superintendent for the City of Indianapolis Dept. of Public Works for 24 years, retiring in 2007. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post in Terre Haute, IN and an adult leader with Boy Scout Troop 276 of Indianapolis for 28 years.

John is survived by his wife of 43 years, Terry Goodrich; son, Matt (Marilyn) Goodrich; grandson, Evan Goodrich; brother, William (Linda) Goodrich; sisters, Anna Ruth Higgins, Ethel Marie Landers, and Laura Eileen Goodrich. Visitation will be Thursday, October 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Harry W. Moore Funeral Care, 8151 Alli-sonville Rd. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m on Friday, October 9 at the funeral home with graveside services to follow at Spring Valley Cemetery.

Survivors include her loving children, David Greenberg and Joyce (Paul) Grant; and grandchildren, Jason (Dar-rah) Greenberg, Eric (Julia) Greenberg, Jill Grant and Bradley Greenberg. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert H. Greenberg; her son, Edward (Dianne) Greenberg; her sisters, Sara Segal and Bess Axelrod; and brother, Herman Rundberg.

Janet was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church, where she sang in the Resurrection Choir. She enjoyed playing Bridge and participated in many Bridge clubs.

Although she had many interests and hobbies Janef greatest joys were always her beloved family, relatives, and many friends. She is survived by her children, Ann Marie (husband Richard) Summitt, Mary Margaret (husband Stephen) Vilhelmsen, John F. Daneke, III, and Jane Irene (husband Keith) Snyder, and grandchildren, Eric Albert, Neil Alan, Meredith Grace, and Hayden Elizabeth. In 1997 her loving husband, John F. Daneke, Jr.

pi William Hans Ehrich CI 79, Bargers-I ville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, Ml rw- inno iireenwooa Village South. Born on Sept. 27, 1930 in Downers Grove, IL to the late William and Martha (Biedowicz) Ehrich, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 9536, Mer-cier, WI. He married the love of his life, Rita Ehrich on July 23, 1960.

They owned operated Ehrich's Bavarian Inn in Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin for over 20 years. She preceded him in death on April 9, 2009. He is survived by son, Scott W. (Theresa) Ehrich; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Caitlyn Ehrich; his sister, Hildegard CNeil and many nieces and nephews. The celebration of life will be conducted at a later date, where military rites will be conducted at The Gardens at Olive Branch Cemetery.

The Indianapolis Star INDYSTAR.COM Florence E. "Moochie" Howard 73, passed away on October 2, 2009. She graduated from Crispus Attucks High School and Madame C.J. Walker Beauty School, where she also served as an instructor. She was a member of the Light of the World Christian Church.

On Thursday, October 8, there will be visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. at Stuart Mortuary Chapel. On Friday, October 9, there will be visitation from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. with a celebration of life service at 11 am in Light of the World Christian Church, 4646 Michigan Road.

Interment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Laverne (Ron) Harris of Noblesville; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Raymond Joseph Busald 87, Indianapolis, passed away MondavOcto- 4 -J ber 5, 2009. 1 -iiw He was born SJB February 28, 32H 1922 in Indianapolis to Samuel and Teresa Diekhoff Busald.

Raymond was a 1941 graduate of Beech Grove High School and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked for Walt's Supermarket for over 20 years in the refrigeration and maintenance department. After he retired from Walt's, he worked for Ege-nolf Machine Inc. for 6 years, before retiring in 1986.

Raymond was a member of St Roch Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 3660. He also was a volunteer firefighter with the Perry Township Fire Department for many years. He was preceded in death by his son, David Allen Busald on August 22, 1986. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Sauter Busald; children, Raymond Busald Kenneth Busald (Josephine), Karen Schrock (David), Cheryl Busald, Mary L. Tunby (Roy) and Michelle Crook; brother, Harold Busald; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
