Arrangements entrusted to Williams Bluitt Funeral Home. Mr. Brandon I. Miller On Tuesday morning Nita left my arms to be with God. Married to Lonnie Schauwecker for years we enjoyed every day and every minute of our lives together.

Nita was from Ferguson, MO, and attended Washington University on a full scholarship graduating with a degree in metallurgy. Following school she worked with several jewelry shops in Kansas City, Dallas, later moving to Indianapolis Most recently she was a bench jeweler for Midwest Estate Buyers in Zionsville. Nita was nationally recognized by DeBeers for her jewelry design early in her career and has created many beautiful pieces over the years. Her knowledge of the jewelry business was amazing as she utilized her artistic mind to create, design and repair all types of wonderful items. Purchasing a home in Carmel she enjoyed planting flowers, working in the garden and spending time loving on our Yorkies, Jewel and Little Bit.

She is survived by her husband, Lonnie; her mother, Doris McCall of Ferguson, MO; brother, Neil McCall (Carol) and sister, Toni Palmer both of Springfield, MO; and brother, Brian (Cynthia) McCall of Indianapolis; stepson, Rick (Melissa) Devito of Indianapolis; several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and a couple great grandkids. Nita always got a kick out of telling people that when she married Lonnie she became a wife, mother, and grandmother all in the same day. Nita was a certified clown with Smiles Unlimited and enjoyed visiting nursing homes to cheer up the elderly and neglected occupants handing out little items like socks and fun gifts. Even when she was not in costume, her bright clothing and hats were always bringing compliments to her. She would usually tell people where she got her bright clothes, her favorite store, The Salvation Army.

Always having a bunch of little bubble bottles in her purse, she would hand them out to every child she ran into as we went in and out of the IU North Hospital during her cancer treatments. Her desire to donate her body to science was carried out and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Nita was always the one to light up the room with her big smiles and warm heart. She will be missed by everyone she met. I wish to thank the entire staff at IU North for being so nice, so caring and so helpful to Nita during her treatment there over the last 5 months.
