The Dow Jones industrial average, the closely watched barometer of blue chips, scored its best weekly advance in four months with a rise of 20.13 to 777.59. Other major indicators also turned in strong performances. The UPI market indicator, measuring all stocks traded, shot up 1.92 per cent to 94.95, while the New York Stock Exchange index mirrored a rise of 90 cents to $50.10 in the average common share price. Standard Poor's 500-stock index rose 1.47 to 89.50.

Charles H. Hibbert, a for-' mer employe of The News, who was credited with saving the life of an Indianapolis policeman whose patrol car skidded into the Indianapolis Water Co. canal last September, received, the C. B. Dyer award for heroism.
