He died Feb. 26. Mr. Rutherford founded National Gasoline Corp. in 1937 and was its owner until he retired in 1977.

He was a past director of Indiana Oil Marketers Association. Past president of Middletown Lions Club. he was the longtime treasurer of its summer fair. He was the Indiana Lions Club comptroller five years and served as zone chairman, deputy district governor and governor of Indiana State Lions District 25-F. He also served on the board of Camp Woodsmoke and the Lions Cancer Control Agency.
