at Williams Bluitt Funeral Home Peoples Chapel with calling from 10:00 a.m. to Service time. Burial in Sutherland Park Cemetery. James Christopher Lawrence, Sr. INDIANAPOLIS 84, passed away June 22, 2019.

Patricia was born January 25, 1935 in Indianapolis to Paul and Dorothy Bolton Tunis. She worked at Eastland Cleaners. She was a mem- ber of Little Flower Catholic Church, Ladies Aux- iliary and a 30 year volunteer with Community Hospital East. Patricia is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Robert Dale Hawkins; children Toni(Jim) Page, Kristi(Kevin)Koers, Jerry (Vicki) Hawkins, stepsons Dennis and Gary Hawkins, daughters-in- law Cathy and Robin Hawkins, 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her sons Michael and Jeffrey Hawkins, sister Joyce Howell, brothers Fred and Jack Tunis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday June 27 at 11 am at Little Flower Catholic Church with visitation from 9 11 am. Burial will be at Washington Park East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Services entrusted to Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary. She was born to the late Porter Gena Breeden on June 2, 1943 in Blue Ridge, GA. Betty owned and operated Wilson Tire with her husband for 20 years and, also was a beautician for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Wilson. Betty is survived by her daughter, Stacie (Jeremy) Crama; four brothers, Benson, Joe, Jerry and John Breeden; and a grand- son, Nolan Crama. Celebration of life will be held 7:00 Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Wilson St.

Wilson CARMEL Joyce Alane Sipka Winner died on June 8, 2019 in Carmel, Indiana. She was born August 18, 1955 to Margaret Smatlak Sipka and Joseph Arnold Sipka in Warren, Ohio. She graduated with honors from Newton Falls High School in 1973. In 1977 she graduated with honors from Anderson (College) University. Her greatest honor occurred on August 2, 1997 when she married the love of her life, James B.

Winner (Jimmy). When she married Jimmy, Joyce believed she received a bonus gift daugh- ter, Megan Winner (Marcus). Megan (Eugene, OR) brought immense joy to life. Joyce enjoyed their blossoming friendship and family bonds, and took great pride in seeing hard work make her dreams become a reality. She was grateful to Megan for allowing her to be a part of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her father in law, James E. Win- ner, and her beloved, feisty Bichon, Lily. Joyce is survived by her siblings: Sue Sipka Roper (Ralph) from Carmel, Indiana; and Timothy Sipka (Chris) from Alma, Michigan. Joyce is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Special friends include cousin Karen Durica Roller and Mark Roller, Monika Nyby and Greg Hale, Audrey Nelson, Bruce and Jean Alfreds, Kathy Duncan, Cindi Webb, Karen Strege Anderson, Tammy Elser, and Sharon Zehr.

ghherrmann.com Willena Haynes CONNERSVILLE William A. Rogers 77, passed away early Saturday morning, June 22, 2019, at his home in Connersville. One of three children of Francis A and Anna Mae Nichols Rogers, Bill was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 1, 1942. He graduated from Ben Davis High School with the class of 1960 and attended the University of New Mexico on a bas- ketball scholarship where he played with the New Mexico Lobos. He later attended Purdue University, studying Mechanical Engineering.

Bill was honored to be inducted into the Ben Davis Alumni Hall of Fame. Bill founded, owned, and operated Rogers Engineering and Manufacturing in Cambridge City for over 47 years. His other local business interest include owned and operated the Western Lanes Bowling Alley and the 11th Frame Restaurant which later became Conner House Restaurant and Smorgasbord and Mr. Cinnamon Bakery. Bill along with his company Rogers Engineering also constructed the Woo- dridge Inn of Connersville.

Bill had many interests, including golf; enjoying memberships at both St. Andrews South Golf Club in Punta Gorda, Florida and Connersville Country Club. He was proud to have made a hole-in-one three times over his career. Bill also was an avid boater and member of the PGI Islanders of Punta Gorda. He also was a commercial pilot, flying for both business and pleasure.

A well-known drag racer, Bill held the world record in the quarter-mile CEA class and was a runner-up champion in the NHRA finals during the 1980s. He was also the 1985 champion in the World National IHRA in the CEA class. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, especially when they were all together in Florida. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Leach Rogers, whom he married on July 25, 1987; three children, Bill Jr. (Tonya) Rogers, Steve (Stephanie) Rogers, and Denise Rogers, all of Connersville; seven grandchildren, Dawn (Tyler) Rogers, Amanda (Shane) Weller, Chase (Brittany) Rogers, Kristina (Jesse) Frazier, Nicholas Ramey, A.J.

(Adrienne) Isaacs, Morgan (Robert) Waelty; thirteen great-grandchildren; two siblings, May Johnson and Paul (Helga) Rogers, all of Indianapolis. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, Roy Johnson. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Pastor Ron Russell will officiate.

Holycross, age 81, of Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Danville, Illinois on November 11, 1937 to Clarence Wesley and Hazel Mae (Smith) Holycross. He graduated from Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis in 1955. Joe served in the U.S.

Navy He married Joa (Walker) 50 years ago in Speedway. He was a supervisor for the International Har- vester Foundry in Indianapolis in the maintenance department. He was also a card-carrying journey- man for many years. Joe worked for the Hancock County Department also in the maintenance depart- ment. Joe was a lifetime member of the Greenfield VFW Post He was also a member of the NRA, American Legion, and MCB-6 Association.

Joe was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. During the summer months you would find him out in his garden tending to his vegetables. Joe loved spending time with his buddies and the VFW. He most of all loved being a grandpa and a dad. Joe is survived by his loving wife, Joa Holycross of Greenfield; children, Trina Holycross of Greenfield, Tim (Lynda) Holycross of Washington, Lareen (Mark) Hufford of Greenfield, Duran (Linda) Holycross of Florida Keys, Jay Holycross of Indianapolis, Janice Ross of Brownsburg, and Elizabeth Plummer of Indianapolis; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Fleetwood of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Hazel Holycross. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy.
